Organization of school record has been done manually for a long time but the increasing volume of student data in modern times has called for a more computerized approach. This research work gives an overview of school management system with respect to its aims and objectives and the problems with the management of student record and staffs information. In view of the problem identified, a new system was designed and developed to automate the process of extraction of student data using visual basic 6.0 programming language. Also provided in this work is a description of the system design specification and its implementation.

The system software is designed to provide a computerized way of registering students, updating of existing records, viewing of existing records and to view forecast. There is no special orientation required to operate the software since it has been designed in such a way that it can be easily understood.
